Lemac Chronograph 765 - Tri-Compax Cream Dial - Watch Only (ca. 1940's)

A scarce mid-century Swiss chronograph from Lemac, presented in a slim stainless steel case with a warm, evenly aged cream dial and heat-blued hands. The tri-compax configuration - 30-minute counter at twelve, 12-hour counter at three, and running seconds at six, wrapped by an outer tachymeter scale - is a classic 1940s civilian chronograph layout increasingly hard to find in honest, original condition.

Details:

  • Reference: 765 (case reference, stamped on caseback)
  • Year: ca. 1940's
  • Case Material: Stainless steel (marked "STAINLESS STEEL - ANTIMAGNETIC - SHOCK PROTECTED - WATERPROOF" on caseback)
  • Dial: Cream / warm silvered with even patina, applied Arabic numerals at 11, 12, 2, 4, 7, "Lemac" script logo, "SHOCK PROTECTED" text, outer tachymeter scale (base 1000)
  • Sub-Registers: 30-minute counter at 12, 12-hour counter at 3, running seconds at 6
  • Hands: Heat-blued dauphine-style hour and minute, blued central chronograph seconds
  • Movement: Manual-wind chronograph, three-register with 12-hour totalizer
  • Crystal: Acrylic (period-correct)
  • Pushers: Round pump pushers flanking the crown
  • Strap: Tan calfskin leather on stainless steel pin buckle
  • Water Resistance: Not rated for modern water contact

Set Includes:

  • Watch only

Condition:

  • Very good condition, signs of normal wear and age
  • Dial displays a warm, even cream patina across all three sub-registers
  • Blued hands intact and clean, sub-dial hands present and aligned
  • Case retains its lug shape with light surface marks from age
  • Pushers and crown crisp and correctly styled for the period
  • Caseback stampings clearly legible

Vintage chronographs from lesser-known Swiss marques like Lemac represent one of the last honest corners of the market - fully mechanical, hand-assembled around period Swiss ebauches, and increasingly scarce in original, unpolished condition.
